Mr. Southorn, who came in to see me this
morning, mentioned Mr. E. G. Alabaster, who is a
K. C. in Hong Kong, as having applied for a
Judgeship in the Colonial Service. Have we
heard anything about him and do we often appoint
people from the Bar direct as Puisne Judges.
Southern says that Mr. Alabaster is very good and
would do well.
